Jim Mitros

Re-Elect Flossmoor Trustee Jim Mitros on April 4

Jim Mitros

Jim Mitros has served as a Trustee on the Flossmoor Village Board since 1995, making him the longest-serving member of the current Board. A near lifelong Flossmoor resident, Jim is passionate about maintaining the Village of Flossmoor’s status as a great place to live, work and raise a family. In fact, Jim’s wife Nancy and four children - Mary Erin, Catherine, John and Anna Mae - were all raised in Flossmoor, and they, like Jim, continue to be advocates of the community.

During his 28-year tenure on the Board, Jim has supported business in Flossmoor from promoting the development of the now uptown Flossmoor staple, Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery, to the more recently developed Meijer and surrounding businesses. Realizing the expansion of both small and large businesses offsets the tax burden on residents, Jim supports future tax-generating opportunities and incentive programs within the Village to keep Flossmoor competitive with the Chicagoland area.

As a Homewood-Flossmoor High School graduate, Jim is also an advocate for protecting the quality of local school districts and the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District, which, in turn, maintain property values throughout the Village, as well as attract new residents. During Jim’s time on the Village Board, the Village’s population has grown competitively with the surrounding market.

Jim also supports environmental and aesthetic improvements in the Village, such as development of a permeable paver road to reduce flooding and improve water quality, world-class artwork installations throughout the community and business district improvements and beautification.

On April 4, vote Jim Mitros for Flossmoor Village Trustee, so he can continue to make Flossmoor a thriving community for residents and visitors alike.
